new additions to our Company of Artists!

VTP’s professional
ensemble grows to 25 in 2007 with the addition of three new
members, Boston area performers Kortney Adams, Bill Gardiner
and Corey Jackson.
Kortney Adams has
been working as an actor, director, and teacher in Boston since
2002. She has recently performed in the long-running hit Shear
Madness at the Charles Playhouse, as well as in productions
at Rough & Tumble Theatre, Boston Playwrights' Theatre, Company
One, Publick Theatre Wellesley Summer Theatre, where she received
an Independent Reviewers of New England Award for Best Supporting
Actress for her role as Tite in After Mrs. Rochester. Kortney’s
recent directing projects include Othello with the MIT Shakespeare
Ensemble, Voice of Good Hope with the Theatre Cooperative, and
Ode to Askia Touré, part of the 2007 African American
Theatre Festival. Kortney will perform with Village Theatre Project
at our St. Patrick’s Day Gala on March 16.
Bill Gardiner’s Boston credits as an actor include productions
with Actors’ Shakespeare Project, Stoneham Theatre, Publick
Theatre; Boston Theatre Works, North Shore Music Theatre, American
Stage Festival, Boston Playwrights Theatre, and Gloucester Stage
Company. Bill has toured New England with City Stage Company,
Boston Arts Group, Loon and Heron Theatre, Boston’s Museum
of Science and Tempest Productions. Bill is currently working
towards an MFA in Theatre Education at Boston University, spending
much time with VTP Company members Christine Hamel and Judith
Chaffee, both professors at Boston University.
Corey Jackson has
been directing, coaching, and acting northwest of Boston for
several years. His directing credits include The Music
Man for Theatre Three in Acton, Into the Woods for ACTS in Concord,
The Boys Next Door for Sudbury Savoyards and The
Secret Garden for Savoyard Light Opera Company in Carlisle. Corey’s
acting credits include That's Andy, a staged reading in New York;
Christmas Carol and Lizzie Borden at Stoneham Theatre; Putting
It Together at Riverside Theatre Works; and Assassins for Metro
Stage Company. Corey has extensive experience directing youth
theatre productions, and is co-directing the Village Theatre
Project Young Company in its current musical production, Children
of Eden, performing February 21-25 at the Groton-Dunstable Regional
High School.
With the addition of these three new Company of Artists members,
Village Theatre Project builds its resident ensemble of professional
theatre artists with a passion for performing, developing new
works and building an artistic home in the Nashoba Valley. We
are anxious to introduce our audiences to their unique personalities
and talents.
