| It
is contrary to our mission to try to "compete" with other
arts organizations by presenting commercial works in order to sell
more tickets - we can offer much more by making an absolute commitment
to our community, and asking for its support in return.
The premise behind the creation of a not-for-profit
is to provide a greater service or activity than the open market
can support. While we are not for profit; we are for equitable
access to all citizens, challenging ideas, encouraging creative
thinking, community formation, innovative artistic practice, civic
dignity and more. To ask a not-for-profit to become economically
independent is to ask an apple to become an orange.
We rely on charitable contributions from individuals,
corporations and foundations to survive. As we are a 501(c)3 not-for-profit
corporation, contributions are tax deductible to the full extent
allowed by law.
Why Should I Contribute?
The Benefits of Giving are Mutual
Responsible
Citizenship
Just as not-for-profit social service organizations nurture the
body of the community, not-for-profit arts organizations nurture
its soul.
The arts:
- Improve
our quality of life
-
Enhance our region’s appeal as a place to live and do
business
-
Contribute to the spiritual well-being of our citizens
-
Contribute to our economy through tourism and arts spending
Benefits to Employers
Having a high-quality professional theatre company in the area
helps to provide:
-
A cultural environment to attract and keep employees in our
region
- Direct
employee benefit opportunities, such as complimentary tickets,
ticket discounts and corporate events
- In
gratitude for their support, Village Theatre Project offers
contributors opportunities to show their support for the Arts
in our community through recognition in the theatre lobby and
in our playbills; in our newspaper and radio ads, posters and
brochures
- Your
support of Village Theatre Project is a strong and clear statement
of your support for the Arts, and enhances your company’s
reputation as a leader in the community
